Quality Assurance

Flexseal's philosophy on providing high quality solutions to its customers has been reinforced since our acquisition by Fernco. New markets and opportunities have opened up for us across the globe, and we have invested considerable resources in meeting and exceeding stringent quality assurance standards. This enables the continuous provision of a consistent product quality and technical excellence to customers throughout the world.

Developing and introducing new products will play an integral role in the long-term growth of Flexseal. The company remain committed to ensuring that all new products are manufactured to the highest quality standards thereby enhancing the customer's sales and profit growth potential.

 

UK Accreditations

Investors in People: Flexseal recognises the importance of all employees within the company and invests considerable resources in continuous training and development to the Investors in People Standard.

ISO 9001: BSI have registered Flexseal, and our German subsidiary, as a company that operates a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 - The design, development, manufacture and supply of pipe connection and water management systems. Repair of pipes, sewers and water infrastructure. A copy of this certificate is available below for download.

ISO 14001: In April 2011, Flexseal were also recognised as fulfilling the requirements of the Environmental Management System standard ISO 14001:2004.

EN295-4: These products are manufactured under license to the requirements of BS EN295 Part 4: 1995, 'Vitrified clay pipes and fittings and pipe joints for drains and sewers'. Requirements for special fittings, adaptors and compatible accessories.

WIS No.4-41-01: Assessed under the Water Industry Certification Scheme, these products comply with the requirements of the Water Industry specification (WIS) 4-41-01 'Specification for flexible couplings for gravity sewerage and drainage pipes'.

EN681-1 (Lic No. KM12100): Products incorporate Kitemarked elastomeric parts to the requirements of BS EN681 Part 1: 1996 'Specifications for elastomeric joint rings for pipe work and pipelines'- drainage.

BBA Certificate: BBA (British Board of Agreement) states that the Fernco ranges of couplings are fit for use with sanitary pipe work, underground drainage, sewers and rainwater pipes.

WRc Approved: The following products have gained WRc Approval:

  • The Flexible Saddle FA150B
  • The Flexible Saddle FA200B
  • The Flexseal PA Saddle
  • The Flexseal UA Saddle

 

International

U Mark: These products are manufactured under license to the requirements of DIN EN 295; Part 4: 1995, 'Vitrified clay pipes and fittings and pipe joints for drains and sewers'. These products fulfil requirements for special fittings, adaptors and compatible accessories:

  • Type 2B standard couplings SC120- LC1000
  • Type 1 adaptor couplings 105- 420mm
  • Bushes up to 1000mm diameter
  • Type 2A Euro couplings TC135- TC590

MPA: These products are tested by the MPA Institute ensuring that the required quality standards (including DIN EN 295 Part 4 and BS EN681 Part 1) are achieved.

Australian Standard: These products in Grade 1.4401 (316) stainless steel meet the requirements of AS/ NZS 4327: 1995 'Metal- banded flexible couplings for low pressure applications,' for Type B couplings:

  • Standard couplings SC120- LC1000
  • Drain couplings DC65- DC275
  • Adaptor couplings 110 - 420mm
  • Bushes up to 600mm diameter

Danish/ Norway: These products in Grade 1.4401 (316) stainless steel meet the requirements of the approval committee of sanitary materials, Norway and the ETA-Denmark Institute for connecting approved pipes of any material:

  • Standard couplings
  • Drain couplings
  • Adaptor couplings
  • Bushes for 100mm-400mm pipes

K20804: These products satisfy the technical specifications laid down in the Dutch norm BRL 5220, "Flexible rubber couplings for sewers under repair", as approved by KIWA's regulations for product certification:

  • Standard couplings SC115- SC620
  • Adaptor couplings AC1221- AC4209
  • Drain couplings DC65 - DC275
  • Large Diameter Couplings LC600- LC1200
  • Bushes - all moulded units

NOTE: Standard, extra wide and wraparound couplings over 1000mm are manufactured to the same quality assurance and material standards as certified couplings.
